🎓 Student Research Project Spotlight & New Opportunities:
Congratulations to Namitha Biju on successfully completing her research project on “Gene Expression in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): Subtypes, EGFR Signalling, and Resistance Mechanisms”
Non-small cell lung cancer is one of the main causes of cancer deaths and is difficult to treat because of its complex molecular nature. In this study, Namitha compared gene expression in normal and cancerous lung tissues using publicly available RNA-Seq data (GSE18842).
The project identified important pathways, gene patterns, and differences between adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma types of lung cancer, with special focus on the EGFR signaling pathway and resistance to treatment.
